How to view and change default encoding with autosave in Notepad++
Following are steps for View Default encoding and Character set in Notepad++.
- Go to the
Encoding
menu > Menu list out all encodings and character sets. - It shows the option ticked within the Menu item
- My Editor shows
UTF-8
is checked and it is default encoding configured. - You can still change the Encoding and Character Set with this option
Let’s see the following steps to change the default encoding and character set.
- Open the Notepad++ editor and open any file
- Go to the
Encoding
menu > Menu list out all encodings and character sets. - You can use UTF-18 or Convert UTF-8 or 16 or any enoding
- Also, You can change the character set to ISO or Windows char-sets
